Mother’s Day: a lovely time to honour your Mother but what Gift?

We know Mother’s Day is a commercial event and another way of getting us to spend money. However this year, with the outbreak of Coronavirus, it would seem that by 22nd March we will be in lockdown so we need to get organised and choose a gift online to be sent direct to the no. 1 lady in our lives.

For those of us who, sadly, no longer have a mother who is alive we may want to send this post to our own children to give them a bit of a nudge.

HERSEY & SON – you can’t go wrong with a silver gift

Hersey & Son produce the finest quality silver jewellery and gifts at affordable prices. You can give a sixpence as a good luck charm on Mother’s Day. I think the sixpence coin is such a strong memory from our childhoods so it would make a good gift for our generation and older. Hersey & Son have made these coins into a Lucky Sixpence Pendant (£35) which can be made more special with personalised engraving and selecting the year of your mother’s birth.

Another good gift would be a silver round locket (£50) Inside the locket are two spaces for photographs, a lock of hair, or some other small treasures of your love. Create an extra special gift by personalising the locket with a name, date or short message.

A GOOD BOOK – a great choice with self-isolating on the rise

Always a good choice particularly now when we are clearly going to be spending more time at home in self-isolation. So how about looking at our Book reviews to find the perfect choice for your Mum. Read our review of our favourite books of 2019 HERE.

However a new book, just published this week, is The Time of Her Life by Kate Fenton. We recently interviewed Kate for a podcast, ‘You’re never too old to… fall in love’ and have reviewed her latest book. Read the review and listen to the podcast HERE. We can highly recommend it as a really good contemporary read written with humour and a great insight of life and love.
