If you thought Cucumber Clothing could only solve your night-time, body thermostat problems then read on as now Cucumber Clothing has extended their nightwear range to include leisurewear.
Have you ever been hot and steamy in bed?
No we are not talking about sex but it did get your attention! What I mean is does your body thermostat sometimes not work and you toss and turn, feeling very uncomfortable? You end up sticking a leg out from under the duvet, or throwing the duvet off which is not conducive to a happy partnership. Finally you wake up in the morning with your nightwear looking like a dish-rag. I think we have all been there haven’t we? It doesn’t only happen in hot countries but also in cold grey Britain as the temperature at night can be so variable. If, like me, you sleep with your window open, it can send your body thermostat into a spin.
What is the solution?
We think that Nancy and Eileen, co-founders of Cucumber Clothing, may have the answer with their innovative and stylish, nightwear and loungewear. Their range uses revolutionary intelligent fabrics that wick sweat and odours away, fast.
The range is also a busy woman’s dream. It washes quickly, no fabric conditioner and no ironing. It dries so fast that you can have it back in your bedroom before you have drunk your mid-morning cappuccino. I have travelled with my camisole dress and rinsed it out in the hotel sink – so no need to pack two nighties.
Their USP is not just the fabric. They have thought about their customers and made sure that each garment is stylish as well as comfortable. These include wide, elasticated waistbands that are stitched so they don’t twist, inverted front pleats, dropped back hems on the shorts. All of these design details contribute to making their garments attractive to wear as well as practical.
New Leisurewear range:
However it does not all end there as now, following the success of their original collections, Nancy and Eileen have extended their original jersey nightwear range by adding cashmere leisurewear – a kimono dress and jumpsuit. I have my (lustful) eye on the Kimono in red as this style could be worn around the house when relaxing or having friends for supper. However I could easily dress it up and go out in it as it is elegant and luxurious. It is made in a sensual cashmere mix fabric and has an adjustable drawstring waist, princess length wide sleeve, flattering v neck, roomy pockets (essential!), side slits and is cut slightly longer at the back than the front. There is also a jumpsuit in the same colours and fabric. Best of all this fabric has all the same thermo-regulating and moisture wicking properties that we love.
Christmas gift suggestions?
How about some Track pants to take you to yoga and then on to lunch with girlfriends? The Harem pants are constructed with the perfect fit in mind. They are also made from Cucumber’s signature jersey fabric. I love the new colour, Rose, as in the picture. They are coming soon. Just subscribe to Cucumber Clothing’s website so as not to miss out. In the meantime you can buy them in navy and silver.
I would be very happy to receive any of the Cucumber Clothing range as a Christmas present from my OH (Other Half). If you feel the same then email this article onto your OH. Your present will be sorted and your OH will be happy! I think this range is going to be so popular as we head into the winter.
Both Eileen and Nancy are passionate about what they have created and genuinely want to help women –
“We are here for you, whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding, perimenopausal or menopausal, on medication, whether you are receiving cancer treatment, have diabetes, thyroid issues or sleep apnoea. Or maybe you are simply a woman who just gets hot.”
“I have thrown all my other nightwear away. Cucumber Clothing is now my only nightwear. A night in Cucumber and I wake up feeling as if I have had a real night’s sleep. I no longer wake during the night due to overheating.” Annabel
