December is traditional party month though it has been on the back burner since 2019, so we had hoped the invites would be dropping onto our doormat this year. However, even if this Christmas is a more subdued event due to the new Covid variant I still plan to dress up. My partywear definitely needs a dust off, or perhaps a few replacements are required. The thing about partywear is that once you put it on it gives you a feeling of uplift. I find that with partywear you need to spend a little more as you need the styles to last quite a few years.
So Grace and I had a day of trying a few different looks from three of our favourite brands and we think we have found some perfect outfits from pre-Christmas drinks parties to Boxing day lunch.
Silver Pink have a couple of very feminine new outfits that are incredibly flattering and could carry you over from Christmas parties and into the Spring and Summer.
When chatting with Nayna, founder of Hope Fashion, earlier this season she was so excited to be producing a line of partywear within her collection. It has been 18 months of loungewear for all of the fashion industry. The new Covid variant may have rained on our parade a little however, it is Christmas and then New Year so maybe smaller groups with people we know but whatever everyone feels comfortable with let’s dress up and sparkle!
- Hope Fashion – TAFFETA SEQUIN DRESS with puffball skirt
- Mandarina Dandy Gold shoes (other colourways available) £199
- Annabel’s black necklace £48 – Lofte Sustainable Clothing
- Grace’s sparkly crew neck cardigan £17.50 – Marks & Spencer
We wererecently photographed in some of the other Hope Fashion partywear skirts which can be dressed up or down, elegant or edgy.
If you are looking for an outfit for Boxing Day lunch – so maybe less sparkle – then Grace and I found these Jessie tops and Rachel jackets from Kettlewell Colours which are just the right amount of joyful. We found the tops so comfortable and they have a half sleeve with tucking at the shoulder. The jackets are much more fun and versatile than a cardigan. The faux suede makes them very light and there are 13 colours to choose from.
Worn here with the Silver PinkSTRAIGHT CUT JEANS which made our legs look so skinny and long.
We hope that you can find outfits that match up to your party spirit and that wherever you are you are able to celebrate the festive season with family and friends.
