The most important garment that you put on in the morning is your underwear – it is the foundation of a good outfit. Get that right and whatever you put over the top will look better because of your good underwear. We are always on the hunt for the perfect underwear and it is Playtex that often satisfies our needs.
I write this but I am also aware that as one gets older underwear has to work harder for us. It has to lift, hold in, control, flatter and be comfortable. I personally love a good body but during the summer they tend to be too hot so I have been reverting to bras and knickers.
Grace and I have been fans of Playtex for some time. We featured them in our top products for February. Click HERE to read. This time I decided as we were moving towards winter I would choose a navy lace set.
The set that I chose is called Invisible Elegance Anchor set. The bra looks very substantial but it is still quite feminine and comfortable. It doesn’t pinch around the side, under the arms. It stays in place and gives me a good shape. I am not an underwear model but pictures say more than a thousand words so I thought I would risk your mirth and show you what I look like in this set i.e. a real ‘older’ woman next to a lingerie model.
As you will see the knickers are a great shape and do not cut across the tummy so they do not create a muffin top. Under trousers they do not move about. The owner of Artichoke, Sarah, shared a tip with me when I said I hate VPL and she advised me to buy a size bigger than my normal size. And yes that works too.
Grace chose the Cover Your Bases Low Back Bodysuit by Maidenform to review. “I wear a body every day – it has to be 28 degrees plus before I’ll resort to just a bra and my usual (voluminous) knickers!” She was intrigued by the versatility of this bodysuit which is very adaptable having a plunge neck and multiway straps – perfect if you like wearing fashion that shows off your back or want to look sporty in a racer back tee.
