Annabel & Grace asked me to review the Prai Menoglow range of skincare for menopausal women as I am 48 yrs old & am going through menopause. I am happy to say it is a topic that is discussed far more now than in previous generations of women, and skincare companies are recognising the need for more specific products. Menopause is known to bring with it changes to your skin as hormone levels fluctuate, and many women experiencing menopause (or perimenopause) report dry, sensitive and dull skin. I am definitely one of these women.
I had not changed my skincare routine to cope with menopause, so this was a first to actually try a range of skincare developed by PRAI Beauty, MenoGlow, specially designed for those going through perimenopause and menopause. If it works, then aren’t I lucky to be able to try it out.
It is a five-piece collection: MenoGlow Hot Flush Cool Fix Serum, Gentle Rebalancing Creme Cleanser, Collagen Boosting Creme Gel Moisturiser, Super Hydrating Sleep Creme, Ultra Rejuvenating Sleep Mask. The press release says: Products in the range contain “M complex”, which is a blend of cloudberry Seed oil, Centella Asiatica and Syn-Coll, as well as other active ingredients to hydrate the skin, boost collagen production, calm redness, energise the skin and boost the skin’s radiancy.
So I know nothing about ingredients and whether any of these are proven to help menopausal women. However, I was willing to try anything. I had always had fairly hydrated skin, so this dry, dull skin that I was now experiencing was new to me. Nothing seemed to help in the long term.
I have been using these products for over 4 weeks. I have definitely noticed a distinct improvement in my skin hydration. I no longer have pilling when I try to apply a foundation or tinted moisturiser. I love the cleanser. You can use it with a cleansing mitt as I feel my skin is so fresh and rejuvenated every time I use it.
The two night products – the Sleep Creme and the mask are so hydrating. I use the mask once a week as a treat whilst the cream has become my regular night cream. Actually, I cannot wait to get into my PJ’s, clean my face and apply this creme whilst I am watching TV. This last year has lent itself to those sort of indulgences as you know no one is going to be popping around.
The Hot Flush Cool Fix Serum is a refreshing rollerball gel. I keep it with me when I have a hot flush, and instantly my skin feels cool. It has helped particularly at night when I wake up having one of my ‘oven moments,’ as my husband calls them. At moments like these, I need any help I can get to keep myself sane.
I would highly recommend this range of menopausal skincare from Prai. I know Annabel and Grace are big fans of the Prai neck cream (read their review here). This is an area often forgotten in other skincare ranges. There is obviously a lot of research by Prai that finds the right balance of ingredients for specific skincare problems. So thank you to the Prai team for improving my skin during this difficult period for many women.
