Four Really Useful Products that we’ve heard about recently

January 10, 2020

This article was written for Annabel & Grace, which is now part of Rest Less.

Hi everyone. Before I tell you about the four really useful products that Annabel and I have discovered recently, I would like to apologise about their randomness. But each one is so good that we thought you wouldn’t mind!

AIR PRESSURE KIT

This was one of the Christmas gifts that I received from my very generous Marvellous-Mother-In-Law. We had been chatting about learning new skills such as not having to depend on men to, for example, change a fuse. So now, lovely readers, Grace can check her own tyre pressures from the comfort of her own house.

Air pressure kit - a really useful gadget

This is a great piece of kit – it works brilliantly and even I found it easy to use. And not just on your car tyres either – also works on cycle tyres, blow up mattresses and toys. It’s cordless and portable and powered by a rechargeable battery or you can plug it into the cigarette lighter in your car (adapter provided). Plus there’s a light if you need to use it in the dark. A great gadget for every independent woman. £39.99 MORE INFO

ALLBIRDS MIZZLES

Four Really Useful Products that we've heard about recently
Annabel in her Allbirds Mizzles

This is what Annabel has to say about her new shoes: “I love my Allbirds Mizzles as they are so comfortable. They are made out of superfine merino wool which is breathable, temperature-regulating, and moisture-wicking, all without that irritating scratchiness.

You can throw them in the washing machine. The wool comes from New Zealand sheep and the manufacturing process uses 60% less energy than synthetic shoes. The laces are made out of recycled plastic bottles and the SweetFoam™soles are made from sugarcane sourced in Southern Brazil, where it relies on rainwater, not irrigation. It’s a fully renewable resource that grows quickly, removing carbon from the atmosphere in the process. Even the packaging is made out of recycled cardboard! And wait for it Mizzles are waterproof so warm, dry, comfortable and washable – what more could a woman want!” Available in six colourways. LASER HAIR REMOVAL MACHINE

Laser hair removal machine that really works
Philips Lumea Prestige IPL Cordless Hair Removal Device for Body, Face, Bikini and Underarms

Now this is an investment – but, according to my friend Beth, a very worthwhile one. “It’s been amazing and I’m nearly completely hair free. I’m on the maintenance stage now and it is heaven not to have underarm hair! Love not having to shave my legs and worry about my bikini line! My only advice is that you have to do it before you go grey because that is the only hair type it doesn’t work on.”

The Philips Lumea is the no.1 brand in the UK and uses breakthrough IPL technology developed with leading dermatologists. It’s safe, gentle and easy to use. 100% satisfaction or your money back with the 100 day guarantee. £325 MORE INFO

GOODMOVE

I realised the other day just how tired and faded my yoga gear was. So when I spotted that M&S has introduced a new range of exercise clothing called GoodMove, I had a browse on their website. Opted for a performance long sleeved top (not keen on showing my arms at my age!) which is also available in Cobalt and Dusted Pink £17.50 MORE INFO and some patterned Go Train gym leggings (nb they come up quite small, so I took a size up), £29.50 MORE INFO. I collected my new purchases from my local M&S and am delighted with them. The materials feel good next to my skin and they have both machine washed well – did not shrink or otherwise change shape.

Teamed in the above pic with my slip on FitFlop airmesh sneakers. MORE INFO

Just wish brands that sell exercise gear would design for the older woman occasionally – have been looking for a flattering top and leggings set in a fun colour (other than the ubiquitous grey) and had no luck – perhaps M&S could oblige in the future?
