Sneakers – contemporary, colourful, comfortable – what’s not to like?

May 9, 2022

This article was written for Annabel & Grace, which is now part of Rest Less.

Might just be me but I can’t remember the last time I saw anyone walking along the street wearing heels. I’ve never been able to wear them successfully – for a start, no-one ever teaches women how to walk in stilettos let alone kitten heels – so I’d end up scraping along the pavement in a very inelegant way. Am amazed every time I see Claudia Winkleman and the other Strictly presenters looking poised in stratospheric needle-thin heels… how do they get their feet in them?! Thankfully, many of us are not keen to relinquish the supreme comfort of the flat shoes that became the popular choice during the pandemic. And now that Spring is firmly here, I’m going to suggest that we all inject some contemporary colour into our footwear. Mandarina has a brilliant selection of quality sneakers that I think you’re going to love especially as we have an exclusive 10% off for you…

How about these new suede designer sneakers as modelled by some of the Mandarina team? Four vibrant colours are available (plus a dotted canvas version). They feature soft suede uppers and waterproof rubber soles with coir rope side trim and laces. A super sneaker/espadrille that will make your feet very happy (the insoles are cushioned hemp) and look fantastic with whatever you are wearing from your jeans to a sundress. The fit is generous so aim for a size down if you are a half size. Great value at £55 per pair.

There are wonderful leather sneakers too as pictured above. Not only do they come in a range of TEN tempting colours, they are super-comfortable in soft but sturdy leather, and have a handy side zipper. Made to last, these are unbeatable quality for the £84 price tag.

If you’d like a little extra height, check out the flatform sneakers. The Fennell green microsuede sneakers are £55. The white Blanche canvas sneaker £60 has interchangeable laces so you can ring the changes depending on what you are wearing. The white flatform leather-look sneakers are £49 and also have four sets of interchangeable laces.

All Mandarina’s high-quality designer sneakers are manufactured in Spain in limited edition collections. There is a no quibble refund policy, even on sale items.

While you’re on the Mandarina website, check out their other unique luxury shoes – fun ankle and colourful Chelsea boots, classic designer courts (perfect for weddings and the upcoming social season), ballerina pumps and elegant tweed flats.

Don’t forget to claim your exclusive A&G reader 10% discount – use AG10 at the Mandarina checkout.
