Spiralizer, peeler, julienne cutter all in one

I went with my OH (Other Half) to the Grand Design exhibition at the Excel in London last week. We were there to look at shed designs but came home with a handy sized spiralizer which was a lot cheaper than a shed! Of course the man at the show who was demonstrating the spiralizer was brilliant and I have to admit that I couldn’t remember how he did it until, when home, I watched the video. It is a potato peeler size, made out of stainless steel, and comes with a plastic attachment that the peeler clicks into to turn it into a spiralizer.

the spiralizer

This Spiralizer has an amazing dual action peeler. It is ergonomically designed to peel with a twin action micro blade which works in both directions, for left and right handed people. It takes the skin off potatoes very finely and will even peel a tomato because the peeler has super sharp, precision stainless steel blades, making them completely effortless to use. It is incredibly efficient and glides with the lightest of touch. The blade works through the toughest of fruits and vegetables, even making butternut squash look easy!

Julienne cutting by the SpiralizerOn the other side of the peeler, there is the extremely easy to use, and efficient julienne blade. This is great for making your coleslaws, potato rosti’s and much more.

However, once you attach your Spiralizer – here is where the magic really happens. Simply click your Peeler onto the back of the Spiralizer, attach your vegetable of choice onto the longthe spiralizer making beetroot spaghetti metal rod and then all you have to do is turn the vegetable round and the Spiralizer does the hard bit for you! The best bit is, you can click either the julienne side in or the peeler side in, and you will get different uses for your spiralizer! The Julienne side is perfect for making your courgette pasta, whereas your peeler side makes great looking curly veg.

I am now nearly as good as the demonstrator at the show with my courgette spaghetti and I even tried and succeeded to make the curly apple slices which I then roasted in the oven – totally delicious.

And the best news is that it is all dishwasher safe and convenient to store.

The Spiralizer slicing a cucumberI already had a spiralizer which is large and awkward and is fiddly to clean so it is now redundant. My potato peeler is also now redundant as it is not so easy to use as this product.  I was so impressed with this spiralizer that I bought one for my youngest daughter who loves to cook and is very health conscious (my elder daughter is also health conscious but not so keen on cooking!!)
